Dene McAllan finishes 3rd at New South Wales Speedcar Title .
The Polar Ice/McAllan Motorsport Speedcar Team travelled to Lismore Speedway on Saturday night for the 67th running of the prestigious New South Wales Speedcar Title. The race track prior to this meeting had been totally resurfaced & it successfully provided fantastic multi lane racing with the long standing track record being lowered.
Heat results for Dene were as follows -
Heat 1 started position 5 & finished 3rd.
Heat 2 started position 6 & finished 3rd.
After the completion of Denes second heat the racing stewards reprimanded Dene for using the grass on the infield, even as no position had been gained he was accordingly penalised 1 position & fined $100. Due to the loss of the position it dropped Dene from the Pole Shuffle and placed him 9th starting position for the "A" Main.
Starting the 30 lap "A" from position 9 was a challenge Dene was up for and within the 1st lap passed 4 cars to be running in 5th position, as the front runners headed high Dene worked the low line until no advantage was left & also headed high. After numerous yellow lights & with 5 laps remaining Dene was placed in 4th position behind Palmer, Smee & Brown and as the green was waved Dene took chase for Palmer using a high speed slide job locking in the final podium position be unable to catch Smee & Brown.
Congratulations goes to Mark Brown with 1st placing & Nathan Smee for 2nd.
The Polar Ice Speedcar Teams next race meeting will be this Saturday night the 14th of March at Perth's Motorplex for the West Australian Speedcar Title. |
